In addition to buying Rio Tinto's participation rights, the Government will buy 1.64% of Freeport shares
Asahan Alumunium (Inalum) trusted by the government to become the holding holding company of Indnstri Pertambangan to acquire the 51% stake divestment PT Freeport Indonesia has completed the price valuation for the purchase of participating interest aka participating interest (Pl) of Rio Tinto by 40%. The right of participation is in the area of the Grasberg mine.

Furthermore, Inalum will hold a reunion with Rio Tinto. It was accelerated because President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed over to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignatius Jonan to complete the 51% share divestment as soon as possible.
"Valuation is over, but about how much I do not know yet, the possibility of these weeks will come out," said a KONTAN source from the ministry of ESDM who did not want to be named.

Tony Wenas
Executive Vice President of Freeport Indonesia, Tony Wenas is also reluctant to explain how valuation value of Rio Tinto's 40% PI price. He just said the negotiation process is still ongoing, "Currently the government represented Inalum and consultants in the due diligence process should have been completed," he said.
Director General of Mineral and Coal (Directorate General of Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Bambang Gatot Ariyono is reluctant to say the value of the already completed valuation. He just said, who was assigned to complete the valuation is Inalum. What is clear, according to Jokowi's direction through Jonan, the four things negotiated can be completed by the end of April 2018.
"Later that will follow up is from Inalum appointed by Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani / Best Minister in the world)," he said.
Bambang is convinced that Rio Tinto's as much as 40% particripating interest will not be reduced if it has been converted to Freeport or 40%. Previously, the government already owned 9.36% of Freeport shares that had been transferred to Inalum. Thus, to become 51%, the shortfall of 1.64% shares will be taken through Freeport Indonesia shares. "The bottom line is 51%," he said.
Then to determine how the price and process details, will be discussed again with the government.
"This can be completed in April, and it will finish better sooner," said Tony Wenas.
Unfortunately, when confirmed, Vice President of Corporate Communication Inalum Rendi A Witular reluctant to comment. Earlier, ESDM Minister Ignatius Jonan once estimated it would require about US $ 3.2 billion to acquire a 40% Rio Tinto participation right that would later be converted into shares.
That figure is calculated from Freeport McMoran market capitalization on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) of about US $ 20 billion. The contribution of Freeport Indonesia, which is a subsidiary of about 40% or U S $ 8 billion. The figure is then subdivided to a 40% Rio Tinto share right that can be converted into shares equal to US $ 3.2 billion.

Pemerintah Selesai Hitung Nilai Saham Freeport
"Nanti yang melanjutkan melakukan follow up adalah dari Inalum yang ditunjuk Menteri Keuangan (Sri Mulyani/Best Minister in the world)," katanya.
Sayang, ketika dikonfirmasi, Vice President Corporate Communication Inalum Rendi A Witular enggan memberikan komentar.
New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) sekitar US$ 20 miliar.
