Previously, President Director of Inalum Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that his company had finalized the payment of shares of PT Freeport Indonesia, amounting to 41.64 percent worth USD 3.85 billion.

According to Budi, currently finalizing the issuance of IUPK status for Freeport Indonesia is currently being carried out. He also coordinated with The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, to finalize the status of Freeport Indonesia from the Contract of Work (KK) to IUPK. This process is still awaiting payment from PT Indonesia Asahan Alumunium (Inalum), as the holding holding company of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) that manages 51 percent of Freeport Indonesia shares.
Share payments will be repaid after the Ministry of Environment and Forestry issues a Borrowing Permit using Forest Areas (IPFKH). He ensured that the permit would be issued in the near future.
"Payment of 51 percent is waiting for the Minister of Environment and Forestry Minister's issuance of IPKKH," he said.
The next point is to build a mineral processing and refining facility (smelter) and change the status of the Contract of Work (KK) to the IUPK Freeport Indonesia has agreed.

Presiden Joko Widodo menegaskan bahwa saham PT Freeport Indonesia sudah dikuasai Indonesia sebesar 51,2 persen dan resmi beralih ke PT Inalum.
“Saya baru saja menerima laporan dari seluruh menteri yang terkait dari dirut PT Inalum dan dari CEO dari dirut PT freeport. Disampaikan bahwa saham PT Freeport sudah 51,2 persen sudah beralih ke PT Inalum dan sudah lunas dibayar,” kata Jokowi di Istana Negara, Jakarta.
Menurut Jokowi, hari ini juga merupakan momen yang bersejarah, setelah PT Freeport berorasi di Indonesia sejak 1973 dan kepemilikan mayoritas ini digunakan sebesar-besarnya untuk kemakmuran rakyat.
“Bahwa nantinya income pendapatan baik pajak, non-pajak, royalti lebih baik. Dan inilah kita tunggu. Mendapat laporan terkait lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan smelter telah terselesaikan dan sudah disepakati. Artinya semuanya sudah komplit dan menunggu bekerja saja.”
Jokowi menegaskan, masyarakat di Papua juga akan mendapatkan 10 persen dari saham yang ada.
“Dan tentu saja papua mendapat pajak daerahnya.”
Sebelumnya, Direktur Utama Inalum Budi. Gunadi Sadikin mengatakan, perusahaannya telah menyelesaikan finalisasi pembayaran saham PT Freeport Indonesia, sebesar 41,64 persen senilai USD 3,85 miliar.
“Inysallah sudah,” tegas Budi, di Kantor Kementerian Energi Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM), Jakarta.
Menurut Budi, saat ini sedang dilakukan finalisasi penerbitan status IUPK untuk Freeport Indonesia. Dia pun melakukan koordinasi dengan Kementerian ESDM, untuk mematangkan peruhahan status Freeport Indonesia dari Kontrak Karya (KK) menjadi IUPK. Namun ketika ditanya penerbitan IUPK Freeport dilakukan hari ini, dia menyerahkan ke Menteri Sumber Daya Mineral Ignasius Jonan.
“Mau bicara supaya bisa menjadi finalisasi IUPK. Ya tanya Pak Jonan, pasti IUPK disini,” tuturnya.
Sebelumnya, Menteri Energi Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan mengatakan, penerbitan IUPK freeport Indonesia ditargetkan selesai pada akhir 2018. Ada empat poin yang harus dipenuhi Freeport Indonesia untuk mendapat IUPK
“Saya jelaskan dulu, kita targetkan IUPK Final sebelum akhir 2018 ini tanggal 19. Kalau selesainya besok, kita beritahu selesai besok,” tutur Jonan.
Jonan menyebutkan poin yang harus dipenuhi adalah, pelepasan saham (divestasi) Freeport Indonesia sebesar 41,64 persen agar genap dimiliki pihak nasional menjadi 51 persen. Proses ini masih menunggu pembayaran dari PT Indonesia Asahan Alumunium (Inalum), selaku induk holding pertambangan Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) yang mengelola 51 persen saham Freeport lndonesia.
Pembayaran saham akan dilunasi setelah Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan menerbitkan Izin Pinjam Pakai Kawasan Hutan
(IPFKH). Dia memastikan, izin tersebut akan diterbitkan dalam waktu dekat.
“Pembayaran 51 persen menunggu Ibu Menteri KLHK penerbitan IPKKH,” tuturnya.
