Direktorat Jenderal Pajak siap melanjutkan pemeriksaan bukti permulaan terhadap PT Google Indonesia yang diduga menyembunyikan pajak. Antisipasi ini dilakukan setelah perundingan kedua belah pihak menemui jalan buntu pada pertengahan Desember lalu. Menjawab pertanyaan wartawan, Kepala Kantor Wilayah Direktorat Jenderal Pajak (DJP) Jakarta Khusus Muhammad Haniv, di Jakarta, Selasa (20/12), menyatakan, jalur perundingan telah ditutup. Oleh karena itu, DJP akan melanjutkan kasus Google Indonesia ke pemeriksaan bukti permulaan. ”Untuk itu, kan sudah meminta Google untuk memberikan data elektroniknya,” kata Haniv.
Dalam perundingan terakhir pada pertengahan Desember, menurut Haniv, nilai pajak yang sanggup dibayar PT Google Indonesia jauh di bawah nilai versi DJP Kira-kira hanya seperlima dari versi DJP yaitu hanya sekitar Rp. 1 Triliun. Namun, yang pasti, nilai pajak versi DJP di atas Rp 1 triliun. Meski demikian, nilai tersebut masih cukup moderat karena di bawah perkiraan nilai utang pajak PT Google Indonesia selama lima tahun terakhir.
Pada 2015 saja, dalam perhitungan DJP PT Google Indonesia memiliki utang pajak sekitar Rp 3 triliun, ”Google minta DJP turun dan Google akan naik. Saya bilang, itu sudah angka minimal dari DJP, Tak bisa ditawar lagi,” ujarnya. Kompas mencatat, DJP mulai memeriksa PT Google Indonesia pada April. Hal yang sama dilakukan terhadap PT Yahoo Indonesia, Facebook Singapore Pte Ltd, dan Twitter Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. Keempatnya diduga menyembunyikan pajak, terutama Pajak Penghasilan (PPh) badan dan Pajak Pertambahan Nilai (PPN) atas semua transaksi yang bersumber dari Indonesia.
Untuk PT Google Indonesia, DJP telah beberapa kali bertemu dengan perwakilan Google dari Singapura sebagai kantor cabang. Pemeriksaan bukti permulaan sempat dihentikan karena DJP menempuh jalur perundingan. Namun, setelah perundingan menemui jalan buntu, DJP siap melanjutkan pemeriksaan bukti permulaan lagi pada Januari 2017. Targetnya berupa penetapan utang pajak ditambah sanksi sebesar 150 persen dari pajak terutang tersebut. Jika PT Google Indonesia menolak pemeriksaan, proses akan ditingkatkan menjadi investigasi penuh.
