The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has not received the reappointment of the temporary Freeport IUPK (PTFI) which will expire at the end of November 2018. The government has indeed granted Freeport Indonesia's temporary IUPK status without having to cancel the Contract of Work.

The BUMN Ministry's Deputy for Mining, Strategic Industry and Media, Fajar Harry Sampurno, said that Papua BUMD has not yet been formed. The Papua Regional Government was asked to immediately complete the establishment of the BUMD.
According to him, the government does not want the existence of a private party in the ownership of the Papua Regional Government in Freeport Indonesia. Of the 51.2% of Freeport Indonesia's shares owned by Indonesia, Inalum will directly own 26%, while 25% will be owned by PTII.
Inalum will own 60% of PTII's shares and 40% from Papua's BUMD. Thus, Papua BUMD will own 10% of PTFI's shares. Indocopper currently has a 9.36% stake in Freeport Indonesia which has been controlled 100% by Freeport McMoRan Inc. since 2002. After the divestment process is completed in December, Inalum will own 100% of Indocopper's shares.
With this pattern, cumulatively 51% of Freeport Indonesia's shares remain owned by Indonesia.

Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) belum menerima pengajuan kembali IUPK sementara oleh PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) yang akan berakhir pada akhir November 2018. Pemerintah memang memberikan status IUPK sementara kepada Freeport Indonesia tanpa harus menggugurkan Kontrak Karya.

Saham PTII akan dimiliki oleh Inalum sebanyak 60% dan BUMD Papua sebesar 40%. Dengan demikian, BUMD Papua akan memiliki 10% saham PTFI. lndocopper saat ini tercatat memiliki 9,36% saham di Freeport Indonesia yang dikuasai 100% oleh Freeport McMoRan Inc sejak 2002. Setelah proses divestasi selesai pada Desember nanti, 100% saham Indocopper akan dimiliki oleh Inalum.
Dengan pola ini, secara kumulatif 51% saham Freeport Indonesia tetap dimiliki oleh Indonesia.
