Freeport Proposes Additional Production of 300,000 Tons

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is proposing additional production of up to 300,000 tons of copper concentrate. This is evident from the revised Work Plan and Budget Budget (RKAB) 2019 proposed by this company.
Referring to RKAB, this additional production is to increase the supply of export activities. Freeport Indonesia Spokesperson, Riza Pratama said, it had submitted a revised RKAB for this year's additional production.

"We are still in the submission process. But we have not yet received approval from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," he explained to KONTAN.
Freeport Indonesia gets a production quota of 1.2 million tons of concentrate in 2019. The production results are used by the company to meet the capacity of domestic smelter processing and refining facilities, PT Smelting. While the rest are exported to Japan, China, Korea and India.
Open pit mining activities at Freeport Indonesia's Grasberg also continue to decline due to the transition to underground mining or underround mining.

The ESDM Ministry's Mineral and Coal Director General Bambang Gatot said the ESDM Ministry was still evaluating the revised RKAB proposed by Freeport Indonesia. Therefore, he could not confirm whether the addition of the production quota of 300,000 tons of concentrate would be approved by all.
"End of August at the latest," he said.

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) mengajukan tambahan produksi hingga 300.000 ton konsentrat tembaga. Ini nampak dari revisi Reneana Kerja dan Anggaran Biaya (RKAB) 2019 yang diajukan perusahaan ini. Merujuk RKAB, tambahan produksi ini untuk menambah suplai kegiatan ekspor. Juru Bicara Freeport Indonesia, Riza Pratama mengatakan, pihaknya sudah mengajukan revisi RKAB atas penambahan produksi tahun ini.
"Kami masih dalam proses pengajuan. Tapi belum mendapatkan approval dari Kementerian ESDM (Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral)," terangnya kepada KONTAN.
Freeport Indonesia mendapatkan jatah produksi sebesar 1,2 juta ton konsentrat di tahun 2019 ini. Hasil produksi tersebut digunakan perusahaan untuk memenuhi kapasitas fasilitas pengolahan dan pemurnian mineral (smelter) dalam negeri yakni PT Smelting. Sedangkan sisanya diekspor ke Jepang, China, Korea dan India.
Kegiatan produksi tambang terbuka atau open pit di Grasberg milik Freeport Indonesia juga terus mengalami penurunan karena masa transisi ke tambang bawah tanah atau underround mining.
Direktur Jenderal Mineral dan Batubara Kementerian ESDM, Bambang Gatot mengatakan, Kementerian ESDM masih mengevaluasi revisi RKAB yang yang diajukan oleh Freeport Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, dia belum bisa memastikan apakah penambahan kuota produksi sebesar 300.000 ton konsentrat itu akan disetujui semua.
"Akhir Agustus paling lambat," Katanya.
